Fischer Homes Expands to Northwest Florida with Acquisition of Assets of Samuel Taylor Homes

Fischer Homes, one of the nation’s largest home builders, has announced its expansion into Northwest Florida through the planned acquisition of the assets of Samuel Taylor Homes of Panama City Beach, FL.

The acquisition is scheduled to be completed in mid-December 2023, pending final approval. Fischer Homes will begin actively selling in the Northwest Florida market starting mid-December 2023.

Privately held Fischer Homes is the 30th largest home builder in the U.S., with over 38,000 homes built and has been in business for over 40 years since 1980. The company is currently the market leader in both the Cincinnati and Louisville MSAs and among the top home builders in the Columbus, Dayton, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Atlanta areas.

“We are always looking for the right market and team for further expansion,” said Tim McMahon, Fischer Homes CEO. “In addition, as we look at acquisition opportunities, we want to find the right partner who shares our mission to build quality homes and deliver an exceptional experience to our customers. This is why we are thrilled to combine our efforts with the Samuel Taylor Homes team, who share our same values.”

Samuel Taylor Homes is a builder in the SweetBay community in Panama City.

Founded in 2011 by Matt Brandman and Hunter Collins, Samuel Taylor Homes has built over 800 homes throughout the Northwest Florida area. Known for their quality construction, they are currently building in Bay County communities in Panama City and Panama City Beach.

Brandman will serve as Market President of the new Florida Gulf Coast Division for Fischer Homes.

“Once we met the Fischer Homes team, we knew right away that becoming part of the Fischer Homes family would be a win-win for the Samuel Taylor team and our customers,” Brandman said. “Both companies are focused on delivering the best total new home customer solution, have a thriving company culture, and see the enormous potential of this market.”

Fischer Homes has been on a trajectory of growth, doubling its home closings since 2016 and doubling its revenue since 2018. The builder continues to expand in its existing markets while at the same time adding to its footprint with new regions that are the right fit with its portfolio of award-winning home designs and expertise in creating communities with enduring value.

“The type of support that our home building divisions receive from our corporate teams is unparalleled,” said Fischer Homes President and COO, Jay Smith. “Now is the right time to bring our companies together to create instant scale in a market with rapid growth with a solid team already in place.”

“This is a winning combination,” said Samuel Taylor Homes Principal, Hunter Collins. “We get the resources and technology that the Fischer Homes team has to offer, and they get access to our talented Associates, land positions, and local market knowledge and expertise.”

Zelman Associates, a subsidiary of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., is serving as exclusive financial advisor to Samuel Taylor Homes.
