    A Q&A With New Central Panhandle Association of Realtors President Amanda Corbin

    Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida is thrilled to announce the appointment of Bay County-based broker associate Amanda Corbin as the president of the Central Panhandle Association of Realtors (CPAR)Corbin was sworn in on December 16th, 2020, to begin serving in her new role.

    A realtor since 2004, Corbin recently celebrated her fourth anniversary with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida, and specializes in residential and investment sales along the Panhandle including Panama City, Panama City Beach, Lynn Haven, the 30A area, Chipley, Sunny Hills, and Vernon. Corbin enjoys living the coastal lifestyle to the fullest, spending time at the beach, boating, saltwater fishing, and exploring Shell Island with family and friends.

    We sat down with her to discuss her appointment along with her thoughts on the Bay County real estate market in the new year.

    Is this your first position with CPAR or have you served in other capacities in the past?

    I have served as a Director on CPAR Board during 2015/2016 and in 2019 and have served as President Elect for 2020. I am a Major Investor for REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) at the Crystal R Level. I will also be serving on three state level committees for 2021: Communications, Emerging Technologies, and Condo Sales.

     What are you looking forward to in the coming year at CPAR?

    Dare to Dream is the Florida Realtor theme this year, and I’m looking forward to applying it to our association in more real estate sales than ever for agents in the Panhandle through utilizing tools and supports available through CPAR and FR. I also look forward to supporting the home ownership for all initiative.

    What do you feel 2021 will bring to the Bay County real estate market? 

    I believe we will have another amazing year in Bay County in 2021.  Interest rates remain at an all-time low, and the Federal Reserve has said they will remain low until 2023.  Buyers are still confident in investing in vacation homes. There is still money in rehousebay.org to help hurricane affected areas for housing. Also, as a result of COVID, people are looking for places to work remotely where the weather is warm, taxes are lower, and the government is less restrictive which brings new buyers to our area. 

    Is there anything additional you would like to share about your new position or the current market in Bay County?

    I look forward to serving as CPAR President and want to encourage everyone to get involved.  Our association is committee driven so it is important to be on committees to have a say.  If you’re not on one, go to cpar.us/committees, and sign up!  I also want to stress the importance of donating the $20 fair share contribution to RPAC. The RPAC lobbying is what kept Realtors on the essential services list this past year so we could continue working during the pandemic. RPAC lobbying also helped us be eligible for PPP monies as independent contractors. Not to mention it helps our customers with private property rights, so it is staying involved is more important than many of us realize.
